Crash test: Audi Q7 vs Fiat 500

Según este artículo de la revista Auto Motor und Sport, los pasajeros del FIAT 500 resultarían seriamente lesionados en un choque a 56 kmh contra una SUV del tamanio de la Q7.

Ciertamente el Fiat 500 parece “resisitr bien la colisión, sin embargo, en el artículo mencionan que la bolsa de aire en el Fiat no puede evitar que la cabeza del conductor golpee la columna A (el poste entre el parabrisas y la ventana) y que la parte superior del cuerpo colisione con el volante.

Velocidad de transmisión iPhone 3G Alemania

Navegando en el interné (Oh Dios bendiga el interné!) me encontré con este post acerca de un test de la velocidad de transmisión del iPhone en la red de T-Mobile en Alemania.

Teóricamente T-Mobile ofrece 7.2 Mbps. El test en cuestión mostró 3.4 Mbps. Claro que todo depende del lugar en el que uno se encuentre pues la cobertura 3G es mejor en algunos sitios que en otros. Aunque el promedio anda por ahí de 1.5 Mbps nada mal si tomas en cuenta que en algunas pruebas en San Francisco la velocidad máxima es alrededor de 560 kbps…

A ver si alguien puede hacer una preuba en la red de Telcel…

Microsoft quiere mejorar, imitando a Apple

Como es bien sabido: la imitación es el mejor de los halagos.

“In the competition between PCs and Macs, we outsell Apple 30-to-1. But there is no doubt that Apple is thriving,” Ballmer wrote in the email, a copy of which was obtained by the Wall Street Journal. “Why? Because they are good at providing an experience that is narrow but complete, while our commitment to choice often comes with some compromises to the end-to-end experience.”

Going forward, Ballmer said Microsoft will be changing the way it works with hardware vendors to mimic the experience offered by the Mac maker in which there will be “absolutely no compromises.” His plan calls for a similar approach in the mobile phone arena, where he hopes the company can create “great end-to-end experiences” akin to that afforded by Apple’s closed ecosystem, where it maintains tight control of nearly every aspect of a product’s design.

Es una app para el iphone para corredores que a través del GPS sirve para llevar un registro de tiempo, distancia (and thus speed) en diferentes rutas. Incluso puedes ver tus rutas en el mapa.

Tal vez esto ayude a Manuel en la próxima carrera de Mural a quedar en el lugar 526!

A group of hackers say they have cracked Apple’s  close Fairplay DRM on Sega’s Super Monkey Balll for iPhone. A posting on Haklabs points to a download link for the pirated game. A number of users who commented on the site say they were succesfully able to run Super Monkey Ball on a jailbroken version 2.0 iPhone using SSH. Other users, however, said they couldn’t get the game to work and questioned whether the hack was legitimate.

Boom de Energía Solar en USA

Pues sí, ya es sabido que los gringos están muy atrasados en cuanto a energía solar se refiere y eso se debe mas que nada a que los gringos nunca se han interesado, al menos no con gran patrocinio, por formas de energía renovable. Sin embargo, según un experto en el área, eso está por cambiar.
